Police The Borough of Berwick is currently accepting letters of intent and resumes for Provisional Appointment to the position of Part-Time Police Officer The provisional appointments are temporary positions, applicants which are appointed will not be retained after the exigent circumstances regarding the work schedule no longer exist. Applicants must have reached their 21st birthday and be Act 120 Certified by date of hire. Applicants must possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma. A college diploma is preferred. In addition, every applicant must be a United States citizen, be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a police officer, and, prior to appointment, possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Borough of Berwick Civil Service Commission will within three weeks to hold a competitive examination and certify a list of eligible candidates and a regular appointment shall then be made from the name or names submitted by the Civil Service Commission. All letters of intent and resumes must be submitted to Berwick City Hall
